Current interests: historical changes of fauna, evolution of sibling species, concepts of species and speciation.

Current position. Head of the Laboratory of Animal Ecology and Biogeography in Luhansk National University.

Public activity: member of the Council of the Ukrainian Theriological Society, Head of the Theriological School and Head of Scientific-Consulting Council for Bat Protection at Ministry of Enviromnent of Ukraine.
