| Legislation  Bat species of Ukraine's fauna are protected by a row of 
        international conventions and agreements, which have been signed by the 
        country as well as by Red Book of Ukraine and Law of Ukraine about the 
        animal world. Agreement on the Conservation of populations of European bats (EUROBATS, 
        1994)The Agreement was developed at the base of Bonn Convention 
        and came into force in 1994. Today the Agreement was ratified in 30 countries, 
        including Ukraine, in which it came into force in 1999 (a Low about joining 
        to the Agreement…, ¹ 663-14, 14.05.1999). All bat species of Europe are

 Convention on the conservation of European wildlife and natural habitats (Bern, 1979)
 The convention was opened for signing in 1979. Was ratified 
        by Ukraine in 1999. According to the Convention all European bat species 
        (except Pipistrellus pipistrellus included into Annex III) are included 
        into Annex II as requiring strict protect measures. As well for today 
        the Convention's Committee worked out the special action plans for two 
        bat species — Rhinolophus ferrumequinum and Myotis dasycneme.  To learn more about the Convention you may here.

 Aims to conserve terrestrial, marine and avian migratory 
        species. The convention (which as also known as Bonn Convention or CMS) 
        is "an intergovernmental treaty, concluded under the aegis of the 
        United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), concerned with the conservation 
        of wildlife and habitats on a global scale". For December of 2004 
        the Convention unites 88 parties, presented by countries of Europe, Africa, 
        Central and South America and Oceania. In Ukraine the Convention came 
        into force in November 1999.  All European bat species are included into Appendix II 
        as species "that need or would significantly benefit from international

        of biological diversity, that means "the variability among living 
        organisms from all sources including, inter alia, terrestrial, marine

 A law about Red Book of Ukraine  According to the Law Red Book of Ukraine is an official 
        state document, which includes a list of rare and being under threat of 
        extinction species of fauna and flora in borders of the territory of Ukraine. 
        Species included into the Book belong to natural resources of state significance
